Western North Carolina - Home of Dogwood Mountain Estates - Near Aheville, NC

Dogwood Mountain Estates boasts a highly desirable southern exposure, and sits high atop Jeter Mountain in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountain range of Western North Carolina .  It literally abounds with things to see and places to explore. This private and very lovely second home community offers three important things – location, location and location, for any activity you could possibly wish to pursue.
Dogwood Mountain Estates is only a half hour from Asheville, NC, where you will experience all the natural beauty, rich history and myriads of activities for which this highly popular tourist destination is so well known.  Biltmore Estate, the largest private residence in America , is open year round and offers tours of the home, the winery, and the gardens.  The famous Western North Carolina Farmers Market, where you can buy farm fresh produce, as well as jams, jellies and other home made products, is also open year round.  Experience downtown Asheville where you will mingle with local artists and street musicians as you peruse the unique restaurants, coffee shops, galleries and boutiques.  If its nightlife you’re after, downtown Asheville is the right place!  The mild climate in Asheville permits fairs and events throughout the year, and from Spring to Fall there are festivals almost every weekend.  You won’t want to miss Bele Chere, the largest street festival in the Southeast.  If its activities you want, Asheville has an abundance!
A short, scenic drive to the East from Dogwood Mountain Estates is downtown Hendersonville , which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  There are specialty shops, restaurants, antique shops, and fun for all ages.  Enjoy “Music on Main Street ” every Friday night from June through August and street dancing on Monday nights in July and August.  Hendersonville is the home of the famous North Carolina Apple Festival each Labor Day weekend.  It features a street fair on Historic Main Street , which includes live entertainment, arts and crafts, apple products of every variety, and activities for children as well as special exhibits. Bring your own chair and enjoy the friendly atmosphere while you eat homemade ice cream over fresh apple cobbler, or just munch a juicy apple from Henderson County , the largest apple producing county in North Carolina .
Also in the Hendersonville area, don’t miss the Village of Flat Rock .  The famous Flat Rock Play House, is open eight months of the year and offers a variety of exciting productions including Broadway musicals, comedy, drama, and youth theatre. While in Flat Rock, be sure to visit Connemara , the home of Carl Sandburg, famous American poet, historian and author.  Take a tour of his home as well as Mrs. Sandburg’s prize winning goat farm.
Ten minutes West of Dogwood Mountain Estates is the City of Brevard , NC.  Known as the “wonderland of waterfalls”, many of North Carolina ’s most beautiful waterfalls, streams, and mountain trails are just waiting for your exploration.   Surrounded by acres and acres of state and national forests, this charming little community will draw you back time after time to enjoy music, arts, unique shops and wonderful dining.
Pisgah National Forest and DuPont State Forest - two of the many places where you’ll probably spend lots of time when you’re not enjoying the scenic peace and quiet of your Dogwood Mountain Estates vacation home.  They offer trails for biking, hiking, and horseback riding.  Go canoeing, white water rafting, and fishing in their many mountain rivers and streams.  Waterfalls and picnic areas are everywhere, as well as outdoor beauty that you can’t even imagine until you experience it.  Local outfitters can supply any type of accessories or equipment you need to enjoy all the activities available to you.
Western North Carolina is a golfer’s dream and you’ll find a wide variety of courses all very close to Dogwood Mountain Estates.  The magnificent mountain settings provide scenic beauty and the mild climate allows four-season golfing that will challenge players on all levels.
Everything on Dogwood Mountain Estates is extraordinary. The gentle snows that occasionally fall in the winter will find you snuggling in front of a warm fire in your fireplace after you have hiked the quiet beauty of the mountain.  Spring flowers and budding trees will mesmerize you as you can almost watch them grow and change each day. The moderate temperature and cool breezes of summer will have you wondering how you can ever leave your mountain paradise to go home.  Fall will take your breath away as you bask in the beauty of foliage changing from lush green to crimson, amber and gold – all this from the peace and comfort of your own porch.  The serene and tranquil setting on Dogwood Mountain Estates redefines the meaning of the term “sounds of silence”.
